However, Dworin said the film only presents one side of the conflict.

"I think it is disingenuous to show these women, who have killed other human beings, as if they have a monopoly on victimhood," Dworin said.

Dworin said the presentation does not accurately portray the political layers of the issue.

Hanukkah celebration begins with traditional food, games

"Many people perceive it as similar to Christmas, but Hanukkah came before Christmas," Weingarten said.

David Dworin, vice president of communications for the Jewish Student Union and international studies and political science senior, said some of the confusion comes from small presents given during Hanukkah.

"People give gifts because they don't want to leave children out - so kids don't feel jealous of their Christian neighbors," Dworin said. "Gift-giving, it's an assimilationist tendency - other people are giving gifts, so they do."

Jews celebrate reading of Torah

David Dworin, vice president of communications for the Jewish Student Union and international studies and political science senior, said Simchat Torah is one of the most festive holidays of the Jewish calendar.

"There are other holidays about remembering bad things that happened or victories - this is entirely about the present and a present accomplishment," Dworin said.
